It’s April 2025, the sun is shining when I look outside the window of my office back home. My parents will show up shortly and we are gonna have lunch. I made a reservation in one of the “better” Italian restaurants over here and afterward, we gonna take a walk in the park and chat about these and that. So everything looks like a nice day here, but there is something in me that I need to write down and get it out of my brain:
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU, UNITED STATES? WHERE DID U TAKE THE WRONG TURN IN YOUR BRAIN?
I try to avoid any kind of news coming from the US. Because everything I hear makes me shake my head in disbelief. This once great country turned dark. Not dark like the last time when this orange guy took office. No, this time it´s a dark that I can only call “fascist dark”. Trump turned the United States of America into a fascist country. And all you guys cheering for this guy, you are supporting fascists, or even worse, you are fascists. PERIODE.
I can say this. I’m German, I got a lot of history lessons about this dark age of German history back in school about the darkest age in our history as an outcome of the 2nd World War the allies made sure that this was an educational plan for all Germans that they always be remembered what happens if a fascist regime comes to power. And now the United States of America is following that exact playbook….step by step. I can not believe that this is happening. We overcame a global pandemic and I thought from now on it only can go up again, but I was wrong. First, this Russian dictator decided to shake up the world by trying to reestablish Russia in the borders of the former soviet union, and now the US turned into a fascist country. A country where the one in power doesn´t care about the law anymore. A country where you now can get arrested for no reason, only because you have a certain look, come from a certain country, or because you said something that the ones in power don´t like to hear.
You call the United States of America “land of the free, home of the brave”? Forget it! You lost that privilege to call yourself like this. This country is ruled by a narcissist and unfit convicted criminal. Yes, that’s what he is. HE IS A CONVICED FELLON! I call him that because he is. Like it or not. That´s free speech. You know what that is? I mean, this thing called “free speech”? That´s the thing you lose more and more in a matter of days and weeks. “Free speech” in the US is more and more only allowed when it does not criticize this convinced Fallon and his team of “experts” consisting of billionaires, TV show hosts, vaccine deniers, and so on and so on.
But since I’m not American. And thank the lord, I´m not living in the US. And how it looks I have ZERO intention to set foot in this country anytime soon, I have not to be worried about getting detained and thrown into some gulag camp as it happens more and more to people and even those born in the US people or tourists. You still call it the “land of the free”. I ask you, is a country free where you have to ask yourself as a tourist if I´m allowed to enter and spend my hard-earned money in this country or do I get rejected at the border or even worse, get detained for days and weeks? Is this your idea of “land of the free”?
A country where the regular press gets more and more suppressed, moved aside when it comes to checking what´s going on in Washington? Where you replace media in the press room like the New York Times with so-called Media outlets like “Breitbart” ??!?! Breitbart? Or where bootlicking news outlets more and more reduce their “critical questions” and show more and more “streamlined media”? Wanna have a look? This is what the Fox News YouTube channel looks like these days. Where are the critical questions that Neil Cavuto once asked? I remember when he said “To call balls and strikes on you” … strange, where are those “Strikes” these days? I only see everyone at Fox seems to prefer the “Balls” these days. And if you just have a simple look at the overview page of Fox News, you know where the preferences are.
Thank god this is my blog and I don t have to face any censorship of any bot on whatever social media platform or state official from the US. Here I can write what piece of shit this guy is in my point of view. This seducer, this overweighted criminal with the mindset of an elementary school bully. The guy who shattered the picture I had of this once so-great country called the United States of America. This Monday, Jan. 20th will stay in my memories as one of the days I hope never to see. But here we are. Only 3 months into this circus and it gets worse by the day. I tried to avoid for some weeks any kind of news from the US. I blocked words on my social media accounts like “USA”, “Trump” and more related search terms only to avoid seeing or reading about this BS that piles up on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. But it’s no use, you can not ignore what’s going on in America these days. Simply by the fact that there is more or less another “thing” that makes you doubt logic, common sense, and simply education in the USA.
I mean, what did I see the last couple of days/weeks?
A Trump that openly speaks about taking over parts of a NATO member’s country. If not by a “deal” then with other options. This not denying of using force runs shivers down my spine. You need to let this sink. An American President threatens a NATO member to take its land. And he wasn t even president when I made this statement.
And on his inauguration day out of nowhere on Instagram search-results were out of nowhere were “sensitive” and were blocked. But the terms were #democrat #liberal and many more. Those were no sensitive search terms. Those were terms of opposition. And they called it “a technical error”. Am I the only one thinking that this was either a “present” by Mark Zuckerberg to show that he’s now a bootlicking individual who wants some attention from his master? Or was it a dry run on what we have to expect on his platforms very shortly? I can not tell, but I’m 100% sure that this was on purpose and it was not the last time we saw something like this. Now knowing that Facebook, Instagram, and X are handed over to the fascist ideology I will step back from those. I mean X aka Twitter died for me anyway the day Musk bought it. But now knowing that META will follow this path it will be much harder to cancel all these services. Facebook wouldn t be a problem. The only reason I stayed here was to contact some people here and there. But this platform is of no interest. Instagram is a little bit harder. I love to share my photography there and connect with some amazing photographers there. But it’s photography and I can post my photos elsewhere. There are some other communities. What’s hard to step away from today is WhatsApp. Not only is it a nearly “must have” to stay in touch with friends and family, but it’s used for work as well. And nearly everyone I know uses WhatsApp. And as long as there is no large movement away from this app, I have a struggle to go away there. But in the long run, I will do it because supporting this kind of authoritarian technology is not my style.
The question that runs through my head is: WHY? What radicalized the Americans so hard, that they blindly joined this MAGA cult? It’s not like back in 1933 Germany. The economy was not down. There was no “Great Depression” upfront that caused mass unemployment. The economy was up and better as before, when Trump ran the country into a massive debt increase. I mean just looking at the official numbers by the US government tells me, they were not looking bad. So, the economy was good. People had jobs, healthcare made some improvements (but still far away from anything I would expect from a developed country). But for some reason I will never understand, Trump and his minions managed to put this picture into the heads of so many Americans that the United States is a shithole country and only he can “save” this country from being “destroyed”. But look where you are today. I recognized this while monitoring the days and weeks upfront to the election. Trump and his minions came up more or less every day with another insult against the people of South America describing Kamala Harris in the “best bully way” to say it in the mildest form possible. And then the crowd was cheering. So they put even more effort into this insulting thing. The negative highlight was this New York rally where the “island of garbage” as it was called by Tony Hinchcliffe a US comedian. I watched it and was baffled. I was simply baffled that you could say something like this. Even if this “comedian” is famous for his roasts as my US colleague explained to me. But was this comedy? On the stage of an election rally? My common sense said “no”. And the reaction of the crowd proved me right. The crowd didn’t laugh. They applauded. Different story. They agreed with this statement not as a funny comedian show but as a statement about the people. If you don t agree with me, watch it yourself. The whole rally is on YouTube. This whole rally was like watching a German fascist rally back in 1933. I think this is how it had to be back in the day. People go on stage and spread not their political message, but pure hate. This whole rally was a rally of hate where political goals are in the second line but in the first line, there was: spread as much hate as possible.
And again, the crowd cheered in support. I just watched in complete disbelief. At this point, I already had the feeling that this election did not go the way I hoped it would go. And I was right, so I skipped my usual “stay up all night long” that I usually do if there’s an election in the US because I already knew what was coming. And unfortunately, the next morning proved me right. The majority of US citizens choose this message. And it was not even a close race. Trump won this election by far. Besides the fact that he was already convicted, besides the fact that his plans looked like a roadmap to a totalitarian regime and he didn’t even hide them, what leaves me with the question: Are Americans just turned into fascists? Is this the USA 2025 and beyond the world has to deal with? Did we enter the area of totalitarian regimes? Did we fall back into imperialism? Looking at the big 3 countries in the world (China, Russia, USA) this feeling comes up.
Although Trump denied any knowledge of “Project 2025”, he exactly executing it right now. Getting rid of all “non-Trump believers” in the government, throwing out all critical media from direct White House information, and replacing them with far-right news outlets such as NewsMax and Breitbart. Sorry, this is the totalitarian playbook. This is exactly what the Nazis did back in the 1930s. And it’s so easy to predict what comes next.
The US isolates itself more and more from the rest of the world and thinks the countries will crawl on their knees back to him begging for “a deal” that benefits only the US. The thing is, this is wishful thinking. Especially when it comes to economic powerhouses like Europe and China. Taking on one of them is a big challenge, messing up with all of them is a thing that can only backfire badly. Every strategist will tell you that multi-front aggression will fail in the mid-and long run. Military wise as well as economically. Another thing that the “mustache-man from Austria” ignored and paid the price for. And not only him but the whole of Germany back in the day. Now the USA will face the same faith and still MAGA minions will cheer for him.
The only optimistic thing I can see at the moment is the fact that I understand some basic rules of economics (a thing that Trump seems not to understand): The market will adjust. New trade deals will come, supplies will be rerouted new partnerships will be made and the US will not be part of that. If the US does t want to trade with Canada, Canada will find new trading partners in Europe and China and vice versa. It will take some time and this time will be hurtful for a lot of people, but we will overcome this because this is how trade goes. It’s like water, water will always flow. You can build barriers, but then the water will adjust. It will pile up for a while at the barrier but then it will find other ways to flow. That’s how it was, how it is, and how it will always be. The only question will be afterward: What damage will stay for the one that sets up the barrier? I can not tell you, but there will be damage. And one of the biggest ones will be that the United States have lost their relationships they had over more than a century as the reliable partner for democracy and a lighthouse of freedom throughout the Western world. I think we are at the edge of a new era of global power shifts. I think the countries in Europe will move together not only in an economic way but in a military way as well. Losing the US as their “shield” against Russian aggression leaders of the European countries may already have plans in their desks that they will pull out now to ensure that Europe will become more independent from the US, even by rethinking their nuclear capabilities. A thought that I personally always rejected because I completely reject nuclear weapons as this kind of weapon can have only one final purpose: delete humankind from the face of the earth.
But given the fact that the US is turning more into an adversary of the free world than a protector, even this option must be on the table, the latest since Trump announced his interests in the natural resources of Greenland (and Canada). Whoever believed that Trump wants to have Greenland for security reasons is a small-minded MAGA-minion. Greenland is part of Denmark and therefore part of NATO, so there never was a “security” problem up there. Even those Space Force jokers have a military base in Greenland. Trump wants the natural resources that are below the ice of this northern country. He doesn´t care about the environment or the security of the people. He wants to drill for oil and mine the stuff that is up there. That´s the same stupid thing that Bush did when he convinced the UN back in the days that Iraq had chemical weapons and later admitted “Ups, we didn´t have that much evidence back in the days…but hey, we kick Saddam Hussein in the balls. (And made some oil deals in the aftermath of the liberation of Iraq).
In this matter, Trump is as easy to read as a child that you hold up a lollipop right in front of their face. He is not a dealmaker. He fucked six of his businesses and hammered them into the ground, but hey, this is your economic “stable genius”. Maybe he wants to sell some of his “legendary” steaks to China or how about sending Europeans to his infamous Trump University? Oh no…not possible BECAUSE THEY ARE FUCKING BACKCRUPT! And the same he´s doing now on a big scale: Why fucking up a business when you can fuck up a whole country and if you turn the global trade structure upside down…let´s go!

Pretty sure they are happy af to see a chunk of their retirement money go down the drain thanks to the economic politics of Mr. Trump.
You chose a wrecking machine as your “Master of Coins” and this is only the beginning. This tarif war with the whole world will bring the US to it s knees. After he and his DOGE teens finished “dealing” with governmental institutions firing tens of thousands of ppl who need new jobs in a struggling environment that the US economy will become pretty soon you will have a lot of ppl on your social security payroll. People that you needed to run your country, good hard-working people that now need to find a new job. You call it efficiency or better Elon Musk calls it efficiency. The mistake he makes is that this is not a company. You can not simply apply company logic to a governmental structure focused on profitability.
What concerns me the most besides the economic impact of all of this, is the way how this US government is dealing with the people. A country that was built by immigrants, that was made by immigrants. Everyone who is cheering for this government and its actions needs to be aware of the fact that EVERY SINGLE PERSON in this country is a child, grandchild, or grand-grand child of an immigrant. The only native Americans are the ones that were living there before the first Europeans set foot on this land. But watching tons of videos of how they now claim to be “True Americans” makes me sick to the bone.

It’s engraved into the Statue of Liberty. That is the story of nearly EVERY so-called MAGA American of today. Their ancestors were immigrants, most of them were fleeing hunger and poverty in Europe, some of them were forced to settle in America due to their king’s wish, and some of them fought for the British crown and stayed after the War of Independence back in 1776. That is the heritage those people seemed to forget. The United States is based on immigration. Like it or not. Feeling “superior” to people of another race or culture is what we had in Germany in the 1930s. And it ended in the downfall of the German Reich as Adolf Hitler once claimed to be. The same faith is now upon the United States if there is no change of course. Because all we see today, the ICE arrests, all the “Americans buy American products” is just the road where we Germans were. And it didn’t end well for that regime.
I hope that the people of good faith in the US will not lose faith. They will stand strong against Trump and his minions and one day this country will become the “Land of the free and home of the brave” once more.
